Transit Leadership Academy
The Denver metro area continues to grow, making accessible and reliable transportation more important than ever. Public transit connects people to jobs, health care, education, and community life. Building a stronger transit system requires input from the people who use it, the agencies that operate it, and the leaders who help sustain it.
The Transit Leadership Academy was created to build knowledge about transportation systems across the Denver metro area and prepare participants for leadership opportunities in the transit community. Graduates will be better equipped to serve on boards, committees, working groups, and other decision-making spaces that shape the future of transit.
This academy is focused on increasing representation from the disability community and older adults. Training will be led by Atlantis Community, Inc., Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition, and ADAPT Colorado.
Mission
Develop leaders from the region to serve in appointed, elected, and voluntary leadership roles across transit boards, committees, and councils.

A transit system shaped by the leadership, expertise, and lived experience of the disability community and older adults at every level of decision-making.
